Memorial Day Events, May 29
Deerfield Beach – The city and American Legion will host a Memorial Day Ceremony at the Kirk Cottrell Pavilion, 314 NE 21 Ave., at 9 a.m.
Pompano Beach – The city’s annual Memorial Day Parade is scheduled at 10 a.m. The parade will start at MacNab Park, 2250 E. Atlantic Blvd., and ends at the city cemetery where a ceremony will be held after the parade.
Oakland Park – Join city officials and members of American Legion Post 222 in honor of those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in service to the nation, 11 a.m. on the steps of city hall, 3650 NE 12 Ave.
McMahon Mix & Mingle

Health & Wellness Fair
Pompano Beach – Andrews High School is hosting its Health & Wellness Fair, May 26 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at 3500 N. Andrews Ave. Ext. There will be several vendors including the Florida Department of Health, the Urban League, health demos, blood pressure and BMI checks, food trucks and more.
Clear Backpacks and Bags

Women of Wisdom Conference
Deerfield Beach – The Annual Women’s Conference will be held at Deerfield Beach Park Elementary Auditorium, 650 SW 3 Ave., June 9 at 7:30 p.m., June 10 at 10 a.m., and June 11 at 9:30 a.m. Registration is required for the June 10 workshops. Voter Registration
Deerfield Beach – Vice Mayor Bernie Parness is organizing a nonpartisan sign-up-to vote opportunity at city hall,150 NE 2 Ave., May 26 from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. Personnel from the Broward County Supervisor of Elections office will be in the lobby with voter registration forms and vote by mail forms and will provide assistance as needed. Parness is urging everyone not on the voting rolls, or who needs to make changes in their voting status, to take advantage of this registration opportunity.
