Resources, Events, Meetings, and More – Week of Nov. 27 (Holiday events!)


Pompano Beach – The annual Yuletide on Atlantic Parade returns Dec. 1 at 6:30 p.m. The parade, which will include Santa, floats, marching bands, dancers, children’s activities and more, will travel west down Atlantic Boulevard, starting at Riverside Drive. The rain date is Dec. 8.

Hillsboro Lighting

Hillsboro Beach – The town’s annual annual holiday celebration, Dec. 1 from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at town hall, 1210 Hillsboro Mile, will feature the lighting of the Christmas Tree, a Menorah and the royal palms on the front lawn of town hall. There will also be refreshments and the South Florida Jubilee Chorus sings songs of the season in four-part harmony.

Santa Paws 

Wilton Manors – Santa Paws is scheduled for Dec. 3, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the Colohatchee Dog Park, 1975 NE 15 Ave. The event features photos with Santa and treats for dogs and their owners.

Namaste! Festival

Pompano Beach – Celebrate the music, food, crafts, and culture of India at the Namaste! Festival, Dec. 3 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. at the Pompano Beach Amphitheater and Community Park, 1806 NE 6 St. Admission is free but visit to register.

Holiday Lighting Ceremony 

Wilton Manors – The city’s lighting of its Menorah, Kinara, and Christmas Tree will take place Dec. 8, 6:30 p.m. at Flippen Park, 2109 Wilton Drive. The event will also feature stories, musical performances by local artists, and lots of holiday cheer.

Holiday Village

Oakland Park – The Holiday Village will take place Dec. 2 from 5:30 to 10 p.m. and Dec. 3 from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at Jaco Pastorius Park, 4000 N. Dixie Hwy. The event will feature the lighting (6:30 p.m. on Friday) of a 40-foot Christmas Tree, Menorah, and Kinara, live entertainment, a Christmas tree decorating competition, visits from Santa, the Holiday Village Carousel, the Oakland Park Holiday Village Snow Slide, artisan and craft vendors, and a food court. Palm Frond Rudolph

Deerfield Beach – Create Your Own Palm Frond Rudolph, Dec. 3 at Deerfield Island Park. The times are 10:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m., 12:30 p.m. and all supplies are provided. Free parking is available at Sullivan Park,1633 Riverview Road for up to four hours. Call 954-357-5100 to RSVP (required). Presented by Friends of Deerfield Island Park.

Toy Drive 

Fort Lauderdale – The Suits, Stilettos and Lipstick Foundation is working with the Fort Lauderdale Black Police Officers Association to benefit needy Broward County students. A toy drive (for children ages 5 to 11) and fundraiser will be held all day, Dec. 12, at the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Beach Resort, 505 N. Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd. The cocktail reception will be from 6 to 9 p.m. Visit to register.
