  • Pompano Beach – The Exchange Club of Pompano Beach donated over $55,000 to various local charities.   • Pompano Beach – 6th grader Payton Buggs received the Student of the Year Principal’s Award at Pompano Beach Middle School. Pictured with Principal Sonja Braziel above, Buggs was also inducted into the Junior National Honor Society, received the Character Award for going above and beyond, and received academic awards for receiving straight A’s in all four quarters in math, science, and language Arts.   • Pompano Beach – Unity in the Community recently handed out its scholarships - $1,875 each to student, based on academics, service hours, financial need, and a personal essay. The students chosen, including the three above, are Kyle Adams, Annmarie Berson-Devol, Linneliet Castellanos, Precious Derico, Jamarrie Henley, Carese Richards, and Isaac Valeria. [Courtesy]

  • Pompano Beach – The Pompano Beach-Lighthouse Rotary club presented four recipients with a $1,000 college scholarship. The recipients who graduated from Pompano Beach High School are Avery Carrino and Dilan Gobea. The recipients who graduated from Blanche Ely High School are Brianna Joseph and Kayla Leveille-Lindor.
